第二部分”工艺”（Part II. Processes）系统讲解手工工具的使用与木材加工方法：如何用直角尺量测与校方、如何用手刨刨削、如何用卡片刮刀刮削、如何用划线规设置与划线、如何用背锯和横截锯锯割、如何顺纹纵剖、如何在搭接接头上使用木凿、如何为螺钉钻引导孔与锚孔、如何锯曲线与修光曲线、如何划并刨出倒角；随后讲各种接合的制作（十字半搭接、边接合、带榫钉的边接合、对接与裁口接合），以及胶合与木材涂饰（砂磨、腻子填补裂缝与钉孔、涂木油着色剂、涂水性着色剂、涂填孔剂、涂虫胶、涂清漆与清洗漆刷）。

每一章都按统一体例编排：先以”Motivation”说明完成该项目的收获，再以”Directions”分材料、施工（Sizing / Construction）与装配（Assembly）三步给出具体做法与注意事项。全书配 49 幅工序图，逐图编号并在图表目录中标出所在页码，便于按图操作。
