《木工》是 M. M. Waters（伯明翰 St. Philip’s 文法学校教师，B.Sc., Wh.Ex.）为备考学生编写的木工考试教程，由 Edward Arnold (Publishers) Ltd 于 1955 年初版，1955、1956、1958、1959 年多次重印。

作者在导言中说明，本书专为备考而写，按 Practical Work（实操）、Drawing（制图）、Theory（理论，含设计与历史）三大类组织，并大量收录近年官方考卷真题，经 Northern Universities Joint Matriculation Board、City and Guilds、伦敦大学、剑桥、牛津等考试局授权复制。

除备考之外，本书也服务一般木工爱好者：制图部分从投影、裁料清单讲到几何作图，实操部分覆盖锯削、刨削、凿削、开榫眼、燕尾等基本功与接合工序，理论部分则讲述木材、工具与构造操作。
